Better Passing Needed
June 5th, 2009 | by Nate Bruce |In order for the Jags to compete in a tough division incluidng Tennessee and Indy, they need a better passing attack. No matter how strong Jones-Drew is, he cant be 100% of the Offense, He needs help. During the entire season last year, the longest play the receivers made was 41 yards by Northcutt. When former college QB Matt Jones who is no longer on the roster leads the team in receiving with 761 yards you have a problem. Jones Drew who is a Tailback was 2nd on the team in receiving than changes have to be made. Im glad the Jags picked up veteran WR Torry Holt to show this team how a real WR can get in the endzone and spread the defense for the running game.
The only good QB the Jags have is starter David Garrard. He has to greatly improve his passer rating from 81.7 last year to at least 95,0. Most of his passes last year were 5 yard check downs to MoJo and curls to TE Mercedes Lewis. Either Del Reo has to open up the passing game or they might as well get ready for the 2010 draft and get ready to sign a QB. I just wish and hope that they dont draft TIM TEBOW. They have already screwed up in the past drafting Byron Leftwich and that’s a Note from Nate.

Garrard is definitely capable of leading this team to the playoffs, he just needs consistent O line play.

Chris is definatly right because Garrard is actually a very good quarterback and now that we have our offensive line back and tori holt i dont think theres anything holding us back.
