Remember The “River City Relay”
June 13th, 2009 | by Nate Bruce |Lets take a ride back in the jags Time Machine and head back to December 21, 2003. It was the Jags hosting the New Orleans Saints coached by Jim Haslett. At that time, Aaron Brooks was the Saints QB at the time. Our Jags were up 20-13 at home in the 4th Quarter with :07 left in the game. The Saints had the ball on their own 25 and made a Cal-Stanford 82 like TD with laterals and a late dive into the endzone. The Saints scored and now needed an extra point by K John Carney to send it to OT. But John Carney, like Dwight Howard earlier this week, Choked and missed the Extra Point giving the Jags the 20-19 win.
Even though the Jags havent been in the NFL that long, never won the AFC title or played in the Super Bowl, they have some great memories. The Super Bowl ring will come one day, just ask any Chicago Cubs fan, but just stay loyal to your team.
Id like to personally thank Bryan Douglas and Seth Trachtman for allowing me to join the FanBall network team and be your Jags correspondent. Be sure to visit FanBall.com and all the different sports blogs on the network. And That’s your Notes from Nate so have a good day.

I remember watching the recap of that game. before I knew that John Carney missed the kick I was lying flat on the floor thinking “oh no”.
Luckly he missed and I went crazy, boy what a great memory that is.
