Jags Declawed by Birds

October 12th, 2009 | by Nate Bruce |

That’s the only way I can describe the demolition that the Seahawks gave Jags on Sunday afternoon. Rashean Mathis was embarrassed by TJ Houshmandzadeh. The Jags O-line was non existent. Maurice Jones-Drew was held to fifty seven total yards. Garrard was laying on his back half of the game and the rest of the time was running for his life.

My biggest disappointment in the game happened before the Kickoff. Mike Sims-Walker was benched for the game for violation of team rules. Mike, what the hell is wrong with you. You had a great game last week and you follow it up with missing curfew, smoking weed, or whatever STUPID thing you did. Get your head back in the game, follow the rules, collect your paychecks, catch the ball, and do your job. This team is having enough problems with not being able to sell out home games than to have you goofing off.

The only silver lining this bad cloud was the improvement of Tory Holt. Tory Holt had his best game with seven receptions for 95 yards. Maybe it was Tory coming to form or maybe it was the absence of Sims-Walker but ITS ABOUT TIME. Tory, you may not be the game breaker you were when you were part of the Greatest Show on Turf, but just open up those running lanes. You will keep getting the ball more when you open up the Play Action pass from Garrard and you will definitely find the end zone this season.
